Does it have the 1.8L turbo 4?
If so, you done fricked up son.
That engine has a plethora of issues. What you're describing sounds like the oil mixing in the coolant. Common problem on that car. Google it.
My old man bought an 04 Passat GLS for dirt cheap since he knows how to work on German cars. Ended up getting rid of the POS less than a year later.

It is just a throwaway A to B car for a mooch.
correct though. 1.8 But once I start something id like to finish.

Meh, sounds like he only spent a couple grand, so no harm no foul.. and honestly, i think it’s a pretty cool gesture that he bought a car for his cousin at all.. doubt i’d ever buy a car for any of my cousins unless i was truly loaded.
