I don’t dismiss Miles’ accomplishments, but I also have to say that a pet peeve of mine is when people qualify Miles’ failures with the “Saban is the greatest college coach of all time” argument.

I mean, okay... but if Les even tries to make the changes that everyone around the program was kicking and screaming for — there’s no way we drop every single Bama game through ‘11, ‘12, ‘13, ‘14, ‘15, and ‘16. Seeing as how they’re a divisional rival, Saban’s present-day resumé + Bama’s brand leverage look a little different if you rewrite the outcome of even one or two those games.

Idc how good the other team is... the talent isn’t that lopsided even now (with Bama dynasty clearly established) — and it was even less so in 2011.

And no, I’m not done yet.
#rant

In the West division... Auburn, Ole Miss, and A&M have all beaten Bama more recently than LSU — in the East, freakin South Carolina is only lagging a year behind with the 2010 W.

Saban isn’t untouchable. He just figured out his #1 divisional rival’s number — and Les didn’t change the damn number for almost a decade.

Now, I know someone here is gonna be like... well it took CEO 3 years to fix it.

Again, we get to play 7 degrees of Les Miles — Do y’all not recall melting about LSU signing more FBs than LBs toward the end of Les’ tenure?? THAT WAS 4 YEARS AFTER NOT CROSSING THE 50 YD LINE IN THE NCG.

Turning Miles’ 2016 roster into a spread threat was always going to be a process... But not many things could be more validating (or damning, depending on your perspective) as this year has been through 3 games.

Les accomplished a lot from ‘05-‘11, but I can’t remember a year after ‘08 where a sizeable chunk of fans weren’t busting blood vessels over predictable, one-dimensional offenses that underutilized talent & resulted in teams as stacked as 2011’s underachieving — some were more patient than others, but everyone was saying it in 2012-2016.

It’s hyperbolic and unfair to say that Miles slowly destroyed what Saban built. However, it is fair to say that Saban left the program trending up, and Miles left the program trending down.

It’s just as asenine to point to Miles 11-year win total as the end-all, be-all... as it is not to credit him for his best teams/seasons. Let’s not pretend he wasn’t utterly terrible for a whole 5 years. Because he really was lol.

You're a clueless parrot that only repeats what it hears. LSU did cross the 50 in NCG, and that quote stated more kickers than ILBs were signed.

Miles teams have placed Top 5 in Offensive categories about 3 times as much as any other LSU coach.
Here, you can argue with the LSU Media Guide.
Read it and weep.
