The way they laid it out just makes me crack up. I probably have more ones than that laying around my house because my kids always need multiples of 2 for their snack days at school and crap. I don’t even keep $1 bills in my wallet anymore out of habit so my kids can get their tasty Tuesday things. They are like quarters to me now.

I mean it to see cops lay out less than I pay in taxes for the month like they are doing me a favor by getting some dirt weed off the street and costing 100X more to jail whatever Jackleg they locked up.

It just seems dumb.

If someone commits an offense against another person, yes, charge them with that.

If they steal from people, charge them with that. If they disturb the peace, hit them with that.

But I know for a fact that there’s an old man a few houses down from me that likes to roll a doobie and snap peas from his garden while he smokes. I really don’t give two shits. I like to drink whiskey and listen to old country at a reasonable volume until 3 in the morning while I post on the OT.

My philosophy is that if it doesn’t break my arm or pick my pocket, it ain’t no business of mine and it isn’t hurting anyone.

Locking non-violent offenders up is a waste of tax dollars.
