I recently voted for an increase in taxes to for police and schools in my area but it didn't pass. I don't feel like I have to write a check to the government to prove that I actually want higher taxes. That's silly and you know it

Do you go around telling people you don’t pay enough tax? What is silly is telling people the federal government doesn’t take enough of your income, when you can easily remedy that, by sending them whatever amount makes you happy.

Let me ask you the reverse. Let's say you support cutting Medicare and SS. Does that mean you have to send it back?

A lot of people and businesses support ending tax credits. Aren't they free to not claim them?

A lot of people support cutting social security benefits. Aren't they free to send their money back to the government?

Just because you operate under the current rules doesn't mean you have to support them
