I was thinking about trying to build some DIY sticks but after buying all the parts you don't save that much. He salvaged tree brackets off his old stick. But at 10 bucks a pop that's 80 right there for 4 sticks. 10 bucks for each aluminum tube, steps at 10+ a pop. All the hardware, you can buy a set.

You are correct sir... but if you want some parts EASTERN WOODS OUTDOORS is a great place to get them. He has pretty much everything you need.

I think the reason he built his was he wanted them a custom length so they would pack better and also weigh a little less.
