S1 seems like a cool option for shotgun people. If you are hunting deer though, you may not want that bigger dot size (its around 6moa iirc). either works. I'm sure aimpoint did their research on what works best.

I agree with you, and the 6 moa is one of reasons that makes me wonder.
6 moa is a big dot for deers or wild hog... the micro h2 is a close aimpoint, but it has 2/4/6 moa, while the s1 is only with 6 moa, it is good for birds and that's it.
A wild hog at 40m distance can be a problem with 6 moa, no?
