I think this is the consensus - the carbine is their sweet spot. Pistols require too much compromise and there just isn't room for error in the smaller, lighter package.

Of course, too big and the blowback operation isn't going to be great, so that's why the middle ground seems acceptable.

Nobody "swears by them", by the way, but some have complimented some of their product offerings on a value basis.
