I also understand other black kids will call him the n word but it’s just not the same when it’s not a non black person calling him that if that makes any sense.
Should not have segregated standards. Would you be ok with a black kid calling your kid an oreo (or whatever the current derogatory term for biracial people is as I am still trying to wrap my head around calling some women a woman and some men a man being derogatory & offensive)?
Being more concerned about N word versus the W word seems kind of racist to me.
To be honest any version of the N word is usually first heard by kids that age being used by blacks. They don’t always clearly pronounce a ‘ga’ at the end of the word in person or in song. Throw in groups of friends starting at that age through high school made up of multiple races constantly calling each other the various slurs for their race which from my experience only is usually pushed by blacks and always in jest by all at first (but only one race will be held accountable when video surfaces years from now or a 3rd party hears them and gets offended). Most likely to make reference to a person’s race in communications would be blacks as well.
A bus driver may not be fully trained in all nuances of dealing with this issue and may have have been asking in good faith what “N word” the girl asked to be called to be able to report complete story of incident (if that is what really was said).

Lyric said, “She called me to the front of the bus when she was bringing us home and she asked me what n-word did I want him to say.”
I admit even if in good faith it should have been asked differently, but until investigation mom should just file a complaint and see how it’s handled first. Making everything a news event, social media trend, assuming a person is guilty, and getting NAACP involved has to stop being first response. How do you know a process works if it’s never used?
