As others have said, I would find another attorney, and start the eviction process. I would also contact the local Sherriff office, through the new attorney, and prove it's your house and that you believe you have a squatter on the premises that you need removed.

This is true, it was the worst advice. Not editing and taking my lumps.


I had previously been able to do it through my property manager because the utilities were written in the lease as a separate payment (i.e., $1000 rent, $200 utilities). Since the tenant was not making payment, I was allowed to stop paying the utilities.

* The last version my property manager used indicated that after so many missed payments the responsibility of the utilities would transfer to the tenant; therefore, I am able to stop my account. Don't recall if this was the situation then as that was over 5 years ago.
