In my mind there are only two great Astros pitchers.

Mike Scott and Charlie Morton. They did it when it counted.

As much as I love Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott was my favorite Astros pitcher by a lot. I got to see him pitch many times in person. For the most part he was money.

If I had to name one sports event that didn't take place, but should have, that I would most like to see, the off the charts answer is Game 7 of the 1986 NLCS. Scott would have drug his nuts all over the Mets faces yet again.

But it never should have come down to that anyway. The 4-run blown lead in the game where Dykstra homered off Smitty to win it, plus the 3 run blown lead in the 9th of Game 6. fricking Bob Knepper
