They don't even have to be older. Back issues, often significant, are a major problem with the breed. Consider insurance as injury that requires surgery is a real concern, and it is not cheap.
They are stubborn pups, but with a bit of effort and patience they can be great pets. Some do not like children, particularly those outside the family. If you get them acclimated to children at an early age, it is not too much a problem.

You gotta get one with a chromed rear trunnion and weld-in subframe connectors.
Trust me, it's worth the additional up-front cost.
