Control is the latest game from the makers of Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break. It’s a twisted, haunting odyssey through an old post-WWII office building under siege by parasitic beings from another dimension. Control has all the standard elements of a regular third-person shooter, but its exhaustive world building and all-consuming eeriness make it much more.

REVIEWS:
quote:
"But, make up your own mind, because no matter what you think of the ending, a game like this is a glorious rarity. Don't do yourself a disservice by reading any more into Control. Go in unaware, revel in its madness, and never take a corridor at face value. That's the best way to serve up - and regaining - Control." -- GamesRadar (4.5/5)

Control creates a captivating, oddball world that never loses the thread of its supernatural tale. - IGN (8.8/10)

Superb: A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage. - Destructoid (9/10)

Control is a slick and stylish win for Remedy, their best work yet. With strong combat, an engaging story and striking visuals, Control is a masterclass in both style and substance. It’s abstract, it’s bold, and it’s wicked fun. - PressStart (9.5/10)

i was honestly shocked as i read the review thread this morning. i thought this game looked like rubbish in all the marketing materials over the last few weeks. i may pick it up down the road, backlog too long right now

I thought the world and story looked interesting but I expected it to get 6/10 to 7/10 across the board.
I'm pretty damn excited about it now though.

This game is getting better reviews than I thought it would. I really liked the concept, but I wasn't sure how well it would be executed. I'm glad it seems to have turned out well, and I'll be picking it up.
I hope it does well enough to make another strong argument for the future of single player games.

I'll be picking this up sooner than later it seems. I really enjoyed Quantum Break so this is right in my wheelhouse.

I'm not very far. But so far I like it a lot. I have been missing 3rd person shooters. Needed something to fill the Uncharted gap.

Same here, I’ve only been able to play for about 2 hours and a lot of that is admiring the ray tracing effects. Loving it so far.
One of the first games I’ve ever taken the time to read every little note I find. Everything is so strange that it makes you want to find out what’s happening.
Other pros and cons:
+ The sounds are all damn near perfect. (Voice acting/environment/everything just sounds awesome)
+ Combat is way more polished than I expected. Trailers don’t do it justice.
+ The story is one that you think about when you aren’t playing, you want to find out more about everything.
+ Physics/destruction is insane.
- My main beef would be the lack of information you’re given when you find a new mod or upgrade. You get some small text in the corner but I usually don’t even notice it.
- Jesse voice acting isn’t as good as the NPC’s you encounter.

I only got to the first boss and I'm already stuck.
