The delta has to come into play. Both are rich in culcha and I mean that in a good way. Blues and jazz.

As a blackened death metal musician I credit much to both of these styles of music.

The complexity of jazz drumming. The beat changes and tempo ranges..what a big band, wall of sound can do to a dance hall, with improvisation and feeling your audience..and what a man with a heavy heart, acoustic guitar and a bottle of whiskey can do to an intimate small room or even street corner. With passion, melody and howling soul..the audience feels him.
