I am not nominating anyone for sainthood, but the Kochs frequently took positions that were counter to their business interests. For example, they were very much on record in opposing ag-related subsidies even when their companies were significant beneficiaries. You are more than welcome to disagree with the Kochs--I frequently do--but I suggest that you are wrong to condemn them as hypocrites when the evidence is much stronger that their libertarian principles were sincerely held.
Side note: It is interesting that as the left has moved on to Trump-hatred, their irrational loathing of the Kochs has moved into the background. I guess there has to be a "right wing bogeyman" even when neither Trump nor the Kochs are traditionally right wing.
