Meh. Mamoa and Heard didn't have any chemistry for me. Kidman and Morrison's story and chemistry came across far better. I put that more on Heard and the writing than on anything else. The writing for their dialogue seemed uninspired and her portrayal was a bit wooden (and that's not even mentioning the shite coloring they did with her hair, the more natural red in JL worked far better).

The effects were solid (although maybe a bit overdone on the shiny coral) and Mamoa's Aquaman is a fun version.

My wife gets mad at me every time I bring this up to make fun of her with but she legit teared up at the end when Kidman finally reunites with Morrison. She'd been making fun of the movie's ridiculousness the entire time we were watching but when that scene ran it was Niagara Falls Frankie angel for her. It annoys her to no end that I drop that card whenever she makes fun of something I'm watching.

That's being pretty generous. Both the writing and acting were just bad, the dialogue especially.
