Disagree.

Older clubs arent bent arrows. They may be a little less forgiving and not hit quite as far.

If your slicing hard or shanking or digging up ground 4 inches behind the ball, new clubs arent gonna fix that.

Folks have shot under par with equipment a lot worse than that for 100 years.

I would get a set of irons and leave the driver and wedge alone for now.
Any set of cavity backs from the last 10 years will do. Get some cheap, that fit, and beat the grooves off of them Once you've figured out your own swing and game then you can pick drivers and wedges to fit
