I haven't been to Lockhart yet (although I've had "Lockhart smokehouse" in Dallas many times and it's fantastic), but you won't be disappointed.
I've heard Kreuz Market is the move, though there's a Black's there as well.

Lockhart is the old guard so to speak but none of the bbq places there are considered the best anymore... Snows is the current champ but only open Saturday morning 8am if you want to try before game(lexington,tx) about an hour from austin.
Or try places in austin that are better than lockhart joint like OP shared
