Its what you make out of them.

My girlfirend my freshman year of college went to Xavier. Her and 2 of her good friends are doctors. The other 2 girls she kicked it with are pharmacists.

A few girls I know who went to Ben Franklin in N.O went to Howard and they are doctors currently.

All smart girls who could have went to better colleges but wanted to do the HBCU thing.

This is the right IMO. I went to SU and graduated in Electrical Engineering back in 2000. I had multiple job offers coming out of school and so did a lot of my friends which many of whom went on to get Master degrees from schools like Purdue and Georgia Tech.

I studied hard and knew my material, but that work ethic was placed in me by my parents. I learned a lot when I attended school there because I was very inquisitive and had a drive to learn. Like anything in life, if you show that you want to do something and put forth effort, people will take interest in you and teach you, but if sit back and stay on the sidelines you won't gather much attention.

Now, I'm currently the lead Electrical Engineer managing all the electrical capital projects for my company. SU did lay a foundation, but I sincerely believe that my drive and work ethic is what made my experience valuable.
