Does anybody have any insight (or just gossip) on how the young backs are doing in pass blocking?
This is what usually keeps them off the field early in their careers.
They have come from a situation where they never blocked or if they did they were stronger than the D Linemen.
That's no longer true and they will be expected to pick up blitzs and know the blocking schemes.

That said, I have watched Emery's HS film and noted his blocking ability. Hope it translates, but as with all frosh RBs, this will be the biggest question mark with him.
Lanard is a good blocker, but of course he's not one of the "young backs".
The one saving grace is, or hopefully is, we shouldn't be running 5-6 second to develop play action pass plays this season. Should be getting the ball out quickly and running more screens. This will help.
