If they cannot turn a profit they go out of business.
They are generally not stupid. If it costs more to do business in a certain area they will charge more....simple to understand. For example, take Insurance: If you are a higher risk or live in a higher risk area, you pay a higher premium. Again, they are not dumb. If they were truly overcharging competition would drive them out.

OK. The easier answer would have been: yes, I've never heard of redlining. Because you certainly aren't talking about it here.
