You won't impress someone by showing you can run a good offense at a school with less talent? This makes absolutely no sense
when has Kansas had an impressive offense? They get crushed every week.
I would hand the reigns to the guy in the second half vs NSU and see what he can do. If he does well, give him a little more responsibility as the season goes on.

When Mark Mangino was the coach. Do you remember when he was all the rage because he made Kansas a national headline?

Why are you latching on to Kansas?
My point is that most coaches show they can do their thing (whether it's calling plays, being a head coach or whatever) at smaller or less prominent programs before moving on to the big boys. Most top notch programs aren't big on being a proving ground for inexperienced coaches. Maybe that's what we're doing though. And maybe it will work out well.

IMO, Kansas was looking for an established head coach that could recruit and perhaps chamge the culture there for 2 to 3 year, then go out for a younger coach that could stay and would want to stay longer. Right now, they don't have much to sell to a head coach.

i dont know why we're arguing about Kansas
but go look at any OC for the top 10-15 programs. they all pretty much start as an OC at smaller schools before jumping up to the big boys.
Brady going from NFL OA to 'Co-OC' as you call him, is a HUGE jump in paid grade. And, one that most teams dont make. Maybe it works, but its definitely out of the ordinary, like most things that O does.
