It’s just a poem that some communist slapped on it at the behest of the State of New York. The United States is not bound in policy by poetry. Just take a jackhammer and remove it already so I can enjoy the melts.

Because it's a way to make a further emotional appeal masqueraded as a logical argument. It's pseudo-intellectual bullshite written for a monologue of the West Wing.

Any propaganda that they can use to fool enough white idiots to vote themselves into submission is the goal. The left doesn't give a shite about these 3rd world illegal aliens, they just want the votes. They don't give a shite about blacks either and would replace them in a heartbeat if they could find a way to let all the aliens vote in their place.

The same reason they believe the phrase "separation of church and state" is in the US Constitution.
Because they WANT it to be true.
Because they WANT it to be true.

And besides, times and priorities change. The people who want to, not only reject, but ban beliefs of yesteryear are the very ones appealing to a sentiment from the turn of the century revering Pagan Rome. (The poem came in 1903 and is by a female New Yorker.)
