The Advocate’s Rabalais noted that Burrow’s absence shows how the LSU’s offense is “fragile”. He noted Orgeron’s candidness as well in terms of what Burrow means to this LSU team. “We’re not the same team without Joe in there. We haven’t got there yet. The offense has been having a tremendous week with Joe in there. Without Joe, we’re not the same.”

Rabalais compared LSU’s offense to an “antique vase on display in a museum. The Tigers are quite beautiful to behold with all their skill talent and depth and experience. But it can all break with one wrong tap of the hammer.” Implying Burrow’s health means that much to a LSU season full of promise. Brennan may be LSU’s future but at the moment he’s not the best solution for this team. Burrow means everything to LSU’s season, and everyone knows it.

That is not the case for all teams, Clemson’s freshman took over last year after their season started and won a championship. But its probably the case for teams like Alabama and LSU, their starters must remain healthy.

Wait so a team isn’t as good when there returning 5th year senior quarterback is out? Geez who woulda thunk that.

I thought Brennan was lighting it up out there with the first team and the offense didn’t miss a beat?

Well Brennans been at LSU as long as Burrow so there’s that. Burrow has the “it factor” at LSU. No other player at LSU means more!

People get upset when I say this but I really don't think Brennan is a SEC caliber QB. If he cant turn the corner and be reliable in year 3, then he will never be ready.
I honestly dont think Orgeron is high on him like most people are on this board.

Maybe 1st team reps for the last week matter. Burrow has had them. Brennan hasn't, until the scrimmage.

Not being as good as Burrow =/= not reliable.

Burrow has been the starting QB for a calendar year now. That’s one year where he has gotten all the first team reps with the first team receivers. Every high school/college/pro team is going to take a step back if the backup has to play. Doesn’t mean with time running the offense the backup can eventually get the team where they are With the starter.

The difference is that Bama's local newspaper guy wouldn't have compared the rest of the offense to an antique lamp. I'd like to see Meatball make his wheelchair useful and roll that frick Rabalais over.

You mean him saying multiple times that he thinks myles is a championship winning qb multiple times means he doesn't believe in him?

If we get the Burrow we had at the end of last season, that might be true. If Burrow is just a slow starter in the season the Brennan might be every bit as good if not better.

A football team is better when it’s starting QB is healthy...wow breaking news. Burrow proved in the UCF game that he’s a tough SOB. I’m not worried and don’t see why this is newsworthy.

Brennan is $ with time. Oline would have to step up. He’s not as mobile and id be nervous anytime he ran. As the D settles into one of the best n the land and our elite RB’s CEH TDP & Emery, Coach E & Brady wouldn’t have to lean on Myles as much early on. And as Parish settles in w/ his 4.5 speed, imagine Emery next to Peter running the read option? If joe went down I could see Parish see action with some Packages. This is why O wants Myles getting significant reps this year. At the end of the day we can win Les Miles style if joe goes down. I am that big of a believer n this years D

im not saying that MB should be on Joe's level at this point, but a 3rd year soph with game experience should not mean that your season is automatically over.

he SHOULD be more than serviceable by now. (not saying he isnt, but the OP and O are preparing for a large dropoff)
