The elderly experience can include many years of poor, declining health, and living with painful conditions that make it impossible to live without assistance from a younger caregiver. If you think about it and put yourself in that situation, you can understand how crushingly depressing and discouraging you are going to feel when that time comes.

Pile on top of that the experience of watching your long-time spouse suffering through the same thing -- AND you can't help them. You can't even help yourself.

This is why some of these folks commit suicide.
