Yeah, the format of the challenge killed the climbing momentum you would get. Think of it as the difference between running 400 meters versus sprinting 40 meters, stopping, and then doing another 40 meter dash after 5 seconds, 10 straight times.
Still I expected Ninja to win that more easily. She did get to the very top before Laurel and stopped to try to figure out where she missed her spot, whereas Laurel just jammed her final peg on the top of the climbing structure. It looked to me like both players missed the same spot initially.
I really don’t think there was much selective editing. On Twitter Laurel posted about what Ninja did beforehand, and it was very mild, even from laurel’s standpoint.
Her entire gameplay this season seemed way too aggressive for the actual situation. She freaks out over a fairly minor thing about Wes said last week that wasn’t even about her. She decided to throw an elimination because of a small disadvantage in the numbers game. She freaked out at the meeting over players having alliances when everyone except Sean, Big T, and maybe Turbo is actively seeking a numbers advantage (and the first two are already gone).
It’s ridiculous. If you ask me, she is just upset that the new generation of players can’t be bullied as easily as previous ones. Kam isn’t as good as her but won’t back down. Ninja will go up against anyone and showed her worth last season.

It looked like production fricked up that challenge really badly. If there were 21 branches they should not have had 22 places that the branches could have gone.
I feel like we’ve heard of eliminations being redone/changed for less.
And then TJ blows the horn but Ninja just gets to start again? Seems like, at that point, the smart thing would have been to DQ Laurel for ringing the bell without having completed the challenge correctly. If the horn had never been blown I could see them allowing them to continue, but not after.
