News has always been in search of a profit see yellow journalism and tabloids.

Problem is that no one wants to compete against each other and it is dying because you cannot compete against instant news and places like Facebook.

What?

It's always been for profit

It died because it became full of ideologues and is nothing more than yellow journalism.

Click bait overruled selling subscriptions. You're not getting news, you're getting an opinion of some 25 year old woman who's paid 35k a year to write shitty articles then get clicks via social media.
