I think that everyone sees this as a tryout year for Brady as OC. If it works, then I think that Ensminger retires from coaching to be an analyst for us, so that he can still help Brady.

Again: how is this a good idea? Everyone in the country knows that LSU is stacked with talent, has an incredible defense year in and year out, but simply cannot field a competent offense.

With those facts, who in their right mind would sign up for an inexperienced GA learning on the job from E for two years (one of which is supposed to be poised for a title run - 2019)? Many people are wondering why a qualified and experienced OC with skins on the wall wasn’t hired once Canada was fired. E has shown no ability to have success as an OC and now he is being tasked with training his inexperienced replacement on the job? I mean, maybe it will work out, but on paper that looks terrible.

What two years do you mean? Are you saying it will be the same in 2020?

His previous job was offensive assistant with the Saints. Why post a dishonest statement implying he was a GA when he was hired by LSU? One year as OA he coached the TEs for the Saints and the other he worked with the QBs. He's currently our WR/PGC so he's not the OC and will not make play calls. He will provide a play call option for Ensminger.

Sean McVay went from asst. TE coach for the Redskins(2010) to TE coach (2011-2013) to OC. So in 3 years McVay went from a position group assistant to OC for an NFL team. In 7 years he goes from position group assistant to NFL head coach and Super Bowl team coach.

Will Brady be the next McVay? Obviously McVay is an outlier, but he's proof that Brady's ascension is not unheard of and there's no guarantee he gets named OC. If he turns out to be a boy wonder like McVay it's a genius move. If not, as others have said, big bad Scott Woodward will come in and fix the situation.

Oh geez … this again? We all know that Alleva wasn't going to cut that check to hire a top-notch OC while also paying Canada's $1.7 million buyout. We all know that this wasn't an ideal plan. Could it still work out great, though? Yeah, it could, and all the early indications are that it will. But it certainly could fail.
