I went this year for Thursday and Friday of the NCAA Tournament. My friends and I stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown. There's a corner with four big casinos, and then there's the Circa Sportsbook.
The seating in the sportsbooks in the casinos were filled/reserved for VIPs, as others have mentioned. Circa is insane with the size/amount of TVs they have, but pretty much all the seating was bought and paid for, so we just walked through to gawk at the size of the big screen.
My friend and I would go to the book at the Nugget in the morning, and place all our bets for the day at once. Then we'd find a bar at the one of the casinos that had multiple games on and slow play video poker and get free drinks. I even got a massage at one point.
Video poker+free drinks+sports on tv+massage= not baaaad
Then we'd break up the day by walking around and getting food, hitting the craps and blackjack tables. It's a fun experience, but I need it once a year for two days IF THAT
