Thank you. Is the area around NOC good for the kids for just plain old swimming/wading? They are all swimmers, though they may opt out when they experience the temps. Ha.

Definitely doing the Deep Creek tubing, and a hike up the deep creek trail to the falls. My youngest is only 6, so is aged out of the NOC rafting. But a couple outfits run little-kid friendly trips on the Tuck, so will probably do that one day. Also plan to drive up through the park to hit Clingmans, maybe also Archie's bald if my little one's legs make it, and Elkmont. Want to hit Cataloochie as well. Want/need to go south and for short hikes and falls, and a day at Asheville and Biltmore.

I would not suggest the NOC as a destination for wading/swimming. Serious current most of the day, can be a little hectic, and Class 5 rapids a little ways downstream. If you happen to be there, there is an area across the footbridge where kids do splash around a bit. Deep Creek is where I would prob go for a swim.

Sounds like a great trip... Enjoy!
