I only fly fish up there, but you need to make sure you have the correct licenses for where you are fishing. Some require stamps or day passes like the Cherokee trophy section, but the trophy section is fly fishing only. If you fish on reservation property, you have to get the license through them as well.
Need to make sure you are using the correct tackle for the areas as well. I never have this issue because I fly fish, but places like the national park has rules about the amount of hooks and you can only use artificial bait. If you fish the national park, you only need a NC or TN license to fish on either side of the national park. This only applies within the national park boundary though.
