Basically Woodward is going to look at the transferring of a funds on a case by case basis.

It makes more sense than giving 10 mil a year and letting the admin do with it whatever they please. I am sure that Athletics will still provide a solid amount, just for necessities rather than frivolous spending.

You can also advertise it to the public in a more tangible way when you can say LSU athletics gave X amount for this or that project rather than a blanket amount per year which is a nice talking point but people can’t see where that goes day to day.

Exactly this. If the university comes to the athletic department with a plan and it benefits student athletes the athletic department will give the university whatever it needs.

Just giving the university or any Louisiana state funded entity a bunch of money and expecting them to use it properly is bad business.

Which opens the door for GREAT PR. What sounds better?

a.) The athletics department gave millions to academics
b.) LSU athletics department funds new library project
