This was such a bad play by the Dems. Even worse then bringing Blasey-Ford to a national audience.
Dems had nothing more to gain, Mueller told them he would only say what’s in the Report. All this did was give the Republicans a chance to tear every aspect of it in shreds.

They're tone deaf because they have super-majorities on the coasts and in big urban centers. Many more Republicans have to fight in reasonably competitive districts. Makes them tougher and smarter.
It has bred a weakness in the Dem leadership that is frankly, frightening. Pelosi isn't a pushover, but the days of Tip O'Neill, Jim Wright, Tom Foley or even "Little" Dick Gephart seem long, long gone. Disagree with them, I did, but those guys wouldn't have stomped on this flaming bag of shite.
