Here is a very good related article that I found quite educational .... Right now NOLA has TOO MUCH tourism... That eventually it ruins the very roots of the reasons people are wanting to come visit to begin with:

Lol. That article was both meaningless and ridiculous. Its never going back to the "good ole days" of what people think they remember.

I don't disagree that short term rentals should be managed by the local government to some degree similar to hotels. But if you think the hotel industry is better...hotels will come in and buy an entire city block to tear down the houses and change a huge area.

Cities grow and evolve. Until some better industry comes in, NOLA better simply take care of what tourism they have and manage it as best as possible.

I would love to know who this group is. My guess is the majority of it aren't from here.

When people stay in the AirBnBs, etc, they eat local, they go to local clubs, bars, etc. All of which employ locals. If that slows down, these same locals are going to be out of a job.
