Bryse Wilson vs. some frick.
ALSO, Kelsey tweets:
quote:
Brian Snitker confirmed it was a blister on index finger for Max Fried. Said it was a pretty bad one. He did not say if he’d be able to make his next start. #Braves
Sadness
ALSO,
quote:
"It's on the right track. Still got a lot of things to work on, but those last two at-bats were good."
— @Braves rookie Austin Riley on his swing and approach at the plate after reaching base twice in Milwaukee
Less sadness. I hope batting 8th will be the right prescription for our ailing legend-in-the-making.

I’ll be surprised if Snit let’s him start.

With his history of blisters we need to hold him out until it’s completely healed

Yeah let him skip a start or two. We'll be fine.

7.5 games up on the Nats as of today. As great as the Nats have been playing over the last couple of months I think it is equally as impressive that the Braves have been able to maintain such a lead. Especially when this has been their last 17 games:
3 vs the Marlins
3 vs the Tigers
3 vs the Marlins
3 vs the Royals
3 vs the Phillies
2 vs the Orioles starting today
Don't get me wrong, they've done what has needed to be done but that includes the legit 4 worst teams in baseball. Well done on the Braves for keeping pace and then some. Ready for the Braves to put them in their place again at the end of the week.

Agreed. Let it heal now, we’ll need him down the stretch. My guess would be Newk fills in to start.

Time for him to pull the ole Moises Alou

Hell yea! ALTHOUGH I’m never excited about Strasburg or Scherzer, and it looks like we’re getting both.

Yeah, I was hoping we'd miss Scherzer with his trip to the IL but looks like we'll get him for Saturday?

Getting Corbin too.
Also, would anyone be opposed to going up and in on Yelich tonight? Tired of people doing it to Acuna.

I’d love to see it. I don’t mind the act as it’s used but it is becoming too common with ñ.

while I think i am in agreement with many that hitting or throwing at someone in response to showboating is pretty archaic, I am all about throwing at other players in response to my own guys getting thrown at. You have to protect your guys, and the only way to do that is to put doubt in the opposing pitcher's head. And the only way to do that is to let them know that their star players will get one in the ribs or worse if they keep throwing at our star players. It's ridiculous that it keeps happening and we do nothing about it.

The fact that we didn't throw at Realmuto after the Urena incident spoke volumes to me.

It certainly seems teams are going after our young guys lately, even going after our pitchers who aren’t a real threat in the box.

The #Braves today recalled RHP Bryse Wilson from Triple-A Gwinnett and he will start tonight’s game at Milwaukee. The club placed LHP Max Fried on the 10-day injured list with a blister on his left index finger.

basically they are just skipping one Fried start. Assuming it heals, then this is a good time to get some additional rest
