I get so frustrated talking about this subject. This is 2019 and we are still losing people in big numbers to this scourge, and not doing enough about it IMO.
We have thrown untold numbers at it, and yes we have made a lot of progress, but not enough, not nearly enough. People like Joe Biden talk big, but do NOTHING. Obama put him in charge before, and now he promises a cure if we do it again.
Just shut up Joe. It's time to end this. Stop talking and get serious. Put a serious man or woman in charge of a moon landing level program to end Cancer, once and for all. Organize the efforts and put the money where it is getting results. Crash program, we CAN do this and we MUST.

not doing enough about it
I can understand your frustration at the pace of progress. But, I'm not sure you have a firm grasp on the complexity of what you're asking. For instance, not all Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer's (NSCLC) are the same. My wife is now in a clinical trial of a new chemotherapy specifically aim at her EGFR or HER2 Exon 20 Insertion mutation (a type of genetic change) that wasn't available when she was first diagnosed in 2017.
