There is clearly no way to prove it, but I doubt Garland would have been a top 10 pick had he played the entire season. People want to prep-to-pros back, but it's undeniable how much a single season of college competition affects the rankings of these guys. They finally have to go against guys who have the physical ability to impact their games.

Garland was saved from that. I may be wrong, but I was never comfortable with picking him at 4. Nobody really jumped out at 4. This was a great year to pull off that trade.
