Thanks. Can I just be an *sshole to everybody (kill anybody I want, etc) or will that mess things up and have a whole town coming after me?

Yeah for the most part. You have an honor system and it does impact how people interact with you. I went bad honor on my playthrough and I don't think it hurt my experience. But most of my "evil acts" were done in isolation out in the wilderness. Going on a murdering spree in the middle of a town has bigger consequences You will get huge bounties and early on if you don't have the cash to pay them then it can make it difficult to do other things

ETA: But even on random encounters in the wilderness you need to beware witnesses. Those f*ckers will pop up out of a bush and snitch to the cops

One thing of note here, is your character interactions can alter the story some and how people interact with you, as well as the overall ending.

Only reason I say that is there are more implications to being an a-hole than racking up a high bounty and some people are ruder to you, or being a goody two shoes and never doing a single thing wrong. The choices you make do have some consequences.

You'll get a bounty placed on you and if the bounty gets high enough and you don't pay it, bounty hunters will hound the frick out of you.
