What changes would you make to the offensive game plan against Alabama?

I watched the game from last year on YouTube and was actually surprised by the playcalling in that game compared to what I remembered it being.
We were in shotgun the majority of the game, tried a bunch of short quick passes, some of them were completed but there were a handfull of batted balls by Bamas D-line. The run blocking was pitiful the entire game, LSU had I think negative 4 yards at halftime.
The only downright horrible calls (that I noticed) were the long developing play action on the goal line which resulted in a sack and almost a safety, and kicking the field goal in the fourth quarter instead of going for a field goal.
I guess my question is, if your O-line is getting dominated the entire game, and the short quick passes are being contested/batted down, AND the run game isn't working, what is the best strategy after that?
What specific things could we have done differently?

Four verticals. RB delay route out of backfield or TE across the hash. Works every time.

At this point you have 2 options
1- recruit better
2- fire people

RPOs are Bama's kryptonite, at least that's what Buckeye says.
Their linemen will be reduced to spectators and they'll be helpless to stop us. That'll be a sight to see if that comes to fruition.

Every time you say? On Madden or real life?

1. I wouldn't make it a big deal.. treat it like every other game.
2. I would stop playing scared/conservative against them. I would just open it up.. especially in the quick passing game.

I didnt really notice any conservative playcalling though. We came out throwing the ball right out the gate

And how should the staff go about doing that? Less talented offenses put up points on that defense, so what did they do strategically to accomplish that?

run wide a little more even if it doesn't work it will fatigue the elephants for other plays to be successful

1. Stop trying to run the ball inbetween a DL full of 5 star players.
2. Stop trying to throw the ball doen the field knowing our OL woes.
3. Throw more quick slants, outside throws in the flats and intermediate routes.
Basically anything to counter their great DL. Thats what has won them the trophies not their DBs but the DL..
Few Qbs have proven that you can move the ball on Bama if you either A. Have time to throw it on their good but not great Dbs..
Or B can throw quick throws against their LBs and gain extra yards after the catch.
Thats the recipe.

Do whatever Clemson did first. Then what Auburn, Georgia, and others have done.
Copycat whatever has worked, because what we've been doing surely isn't working.

You still have to try to run a little bit, and like I said in the OP, we threw A LOT of quick throws

tNFL is a copycat league.
Again, we just study what does work and go from there.

Yes we have to keep them honest but we have to be more creative with screens and outside handoffs trying to set the edge. It was so painful watching Fournette trying to tun through the A gap of a 9 man box essentially.
I’d have to watch the tape again because I haven’t seen the 2018 Bama game since it ended but basically Clemson, and Texas A&M with Manziel beat them more than once. There is a way to do it you have to follow other teams’ blueprint of success.
Honestly I don’t think we beat them as long as they have Tua. As good as our D was last year they still scored 29. I don’t have confidence in us putting up 30 points against them with what i have seen the past few years. But If we can get into a dog fight with them like we did 2 years ago then i like our chances to make a play that Etling couldn’t. I can see us scoring 17 maybe 20 against them if we win the field position game. Joe has a good arm and doesn’t miss wide open opportunities when they are there. I don’t however see us scoring 30 points against them. And Tua is hard to keep from scoring atleast 21 unless your Clemson

Yeah, for a little while.
Ideally you're the guy that others are copying. That's the kind of offensive coach we should be looking for because he will be the one that's on to the next thing that'll work before the defenses have caught up to what the current trend is.

Whichever one actually gets us points. Also keep the game out of the refs hands.

Idk if you could see it on TV, but in person you could see LSU had receivers running wide open all night in 2017. QB just couldn’t get them the ball. I’d go back and look at the film/see what plays were there, and execute them with Burrow.
