Those rankings are so convoluted, I dont really give them much weight. Crystal Downs doesn't have near as much of a dramatic scale as Pasa, but it's obviously a good course.

Why do you think Downs is better? I gave you my reasoning, what's yours other than it's rating that makes you think it's better?

Well, his best US design is probably Cypress Point, then Augusta, then Crystal Downs.... Nonetheless, Pasatiempo is an absolutely incredible golf course. We’re it private and “exclusive” it would be ranked a lot higher than where it is. I have it as the second best I’ve ever played and it’s probably architecturally better than my first best.

I honestly don’t think it’s that tough other than the greens. I shot an 82 there with only one double.

Well worth extending your radius from San Fran. It’s definitely where I’d play in that area if I weren’t gonna do Pebble.
