4k is a little more than a "pro-sumer/good homeowner ztr and an entry level commercial.
$3000 gets you a welded deck, ezt trans and a ~20-23hp v-twin.
for the money, for your stated needs the Hustler Raptor w/ kawasaki is hard to beat, as is the Big dog alpha (same mower with red paint a better seat and led headlight). If you take care of it, it will last years. At this price point, they will all be VERY similar..welded deck, ~20-23hp motor, EZT trans.., etc.
A commercial grade mower will have a heavier deck, heavy duty suspension parts, a little more hp motor and serviceable transaxles..
