Yamaha and Suzuki are both great engines. Suzuki will be less expensive. Just make sure there is someone local to service them wherever you live

Please find a new merc quote, this one is getting tired.
First choice would be the v-6 225 merc proxs @400#'s and second choice would be the zuk 200 fbw in white. Haven't heard about the smaller yams availability but reports on them being weak would concern me.
Resale is a straw man argument since most of us run them until they die anyway, it's the same as buying a diesel truck because of resale but you're paying for it on the front end.

This just isn’t true... I’ve ran 350 Verado’s on my two most recent boats and in 4 years have never had 1 problem with them and in my opinion have wayyyy outperformed the Yamaha F350. There’s a reason all the Mexican Gulf Fishing Company guys and a lot of the other charter captains in Venice are switching to Verado’s right now...
