Go compare Toyota to the domestics. Toyota's top trim probably maxes out at 55K, but Ford and GM is almost 70K.
All they are doing is inflating price to offer huge discounts back to 5K over invoice to make consumers think they are getting a deal. It apparently works, as people seem happy with the default discount, and the manufacturers are still making huge profits on them.

this doesn’t matter to me. I go on w a number. If I am happy and they are happy I buy the vehicle
