A slight bonus is that they do it against almost 6M in cap. So now they are paying 1M for almost 6M in cap vs paying 3M for only 2.4M (1.375 if buried).

Cap floor isn't an issue for the Sens, but it doesn't hurt to have another buffer above the floor. That way if they trade Anderson, Boedker, or Pageau in season, they won't have issues falling below the floor.


In other words, Ottawa is cheap.
