I just watched something where this happened on the California coast a while back. Except it was more than just dolphins. It was all kinds of animals.

They claimed it had something to do with a huge patch of abnormally warm water that was causing the animals to go crazy and beach themselves.

No, all the marine animals beaching themselves was because of the Navy testing new sonar weapons. Even had a mermaid beach itself.
