Thanks for your thoughts guys.
I'd hate to buy a new washer, but also am leary of wasting $200-250 on a computer board just to figure out its not the issue or have to pay $140+ to a repairmanwho will then make me pay more than $200 for a computer board.
Plus it seems these Cabrio's (the Maytag version and some of the Whirlpool version) don't last too long past 5 years from reading reviews - multiple things go wrong.

are u not reading the responses? don't buy a new washer. It's not the computer board. Replace the damn lid switch.
