I had the same issue. It's an easy fix. Most likely the lid switch. Nah, that can't be the problem is what I thought at first...but the lid switches go bad. Watch youtube. The switch is about 15 dollars.

My washer was doing the same thing this weekend. After checking literally every part on the washer, I checked the lid switch. The housing had come apart. Zip-tied it up and it’s running like a top.
