Pels had the highest probability of getting Zion due to them not trading AD, not from only the lottery odds, but the odds of the Lakers or the Knicks or Boston getting the number one pick and trading that for him.

So yeah, they did the right thing. Easily.

That doesn't make sense. The Pels own pick was a low chance with or without AD.

The Knicks are the only team that had decent odds to actually get the #1, and even those were in the teens. I'm very far from sold the Knicks would trade a guarantee of Zion for AD, though.

Heck, the Knicks don't have a shot at Zion and they don't appear to be bidding on AD with the #3.
