whats happening is the air filter provides a restriction so its sucking too much gas in and that raw gas burning is the smoke you are seeing.
small chance its a bad air filter not letting air through it but its gonna be the carb.
you can buy a new carb for it for about $10 which is only $5 more then a carb kit costs to clean and rebuild that carb, its just pointless to try unless you just like tinkering with stuff
