Yes. Running the ball remains a staple of the game. When you run the ball you control the game clock and better control the ebb and flow of the game.

Plus every once in awhile there comes a running back like Sanders or Peterson who is so dominant you just run and run them till they get 2,000 yards and 20 TDs.

If you study football you'll find all those pass-happy coaches turned to that because they couldn't run the ball. Running the ball will always remain the primary objective in football offenses because when you pass three things can happen and only one is good.

There were over 15 RB’s in 2003 with over 300 carries. I think last year there was maybe 2.
