The problem is that our legal system has flaws (like any other) and mistakes can/have been made. What if evidence shows up later that the victims LIED about being raped.
Happened to a close friends husband, a troubled child accused him, nothing in his past or since then to suggest he had issues, took a plea to avoid not being able to see his kids till they were adults. He will have to register as a molester for the rest of his life. Actively involved in church and charity fundraising, again he took a plea to avoid the possibilty of a much worse sentence.

There is a flip side to that coin.
My uncle abused me, my brother and not sure about my sister.
Tore our entire family apart, no charges ever pressed. My brother outed him in a book he wrote two years ago. That motherfricker needs a shotgun discharged in his mouth but people will scream "his rights"
frick his rights.

Which is all the more reason these laws are ridiculous. Look, I get it. We want the bad people to get what's coming. But law is and always will be a double edged sword. Even our Founders knew that and specifically restrict Government ( see my 8th Amendment post) . In their wisdom they knew no system created by man would ever be perfect.
My concern is about innocent people. Metoo revealed a fatal flaw in how we process sexual assault. My prayer is that Alabama really take all these things into consideration.
Dont become the monster you hate.
